Bold, Colourful & Joyful: Roxy & Joelle’s Festival-Style Wedding Flowers
When Roxy and Joelle came to me with their wedding vision, I knew it was going to be something truly special. As a creative and vibrant couple, they wanted a celebration full of bold colours, joyful energy, and a true party atmosphere. Their colour palette—vibrant pink, blue, and purple—set the tone for a visually stunning day, and I was thrilled to design flowers that would perfectly complement their festival-style wedding.

Bringing Their Vision to Life
From the start, Roxy and Joelle made it clear that they wanted their flowers to be anything but traditional. They were drawn to dried and preserved flowers for their unique textures and lasting beauty, as well as the sustainability aspect. Their outdoor ceremony and décor—complete with disco balls—called for statement florals that would enhance the fun, celebratory feel of the day.
To achieve this, I curated a mix of elements that would bring depth and playfulness to the floral designs. Fluffy grasses added softness and movement, palm spears provided structure and a modern edge, and preserved hydrangea introduced a luxurious fullness. I also incorporated high-quality artificial flowers to ensure the arrangements had a natural yet bold appearance that would last long after the wedding day.
Ashley is a creative flower genius, nothing is out of her reach and I believe her product will always exceed expectations!! I had the most intricate flower crown made and wore it for over 12 hours, definitely one of my favourite outfit choices. It not only stayed in place but was so light I didn’t feel it. We also had a huge dried flower cloud made that was suspended above the dance floor with disco balls – full statement piece!!! If you’re considering one, get one!! It is now hung above our stairway at home and will hopefully last a very long time. Thank you for everything Ashley, it was a dream come true working with you and couldn’t recommend you more highly!!!

The Design Process
One of the standout elements of Roxy and Joelle’s wedding was their large hanging flower cloud—a showstopping installation that tied the entire theme together. I wanted this piece to feel whimsical yet striking, incorporating layers of pink, blue, and purple to reflect the couple’s dynamic personalities. The dried and preserved elements worked beautifully in this arrangement, creating a textured, airy display that looked incredible against the outdoor setting.
Their bouquets and buttonholes followed the same bold and playful theme. Roxy’s bouquet, in particular, was designed as a vibrant explosion of colour, featuring striking palm spears and feathery grasses, while Joelle’s had a complementary design with a slightly more structured feel to suit her outfit. The buttonholes were small but impactful, tying in elements from the bouquets to create a cohesive look for the wedding party.

The Dried Flower Crown
A personal highlight for me was creating Roxy’s dried flower crown headpiece. As soon as she described her love of bold colours and fun, festival-inspired styling, I knew a statement headpiece would be the perfect finishing touch. I designed the crown with a mix of preserved flowers, fluffy grasses, and bunny tails in vibrant pinks, blues, and purples, ensuring it tied in seamlessly with her bouquet and the overall floral aesthetic. The result was a striking, playful piece that made her look every bit the festival queen on her wedding day. Seeing her wear it with such confidence and joy was an unforgettable moment!

The Final Touches & The Big Day
On the wedding day, seeing the florals come together with the rest of the décor was pure magic. The way the flowers interacted with the disco balls and colourful styling was exactly what Roxy and Joelle had envisioned—fun, high-energy, and completely unique. Their joy was infectious, and it was an honour to have played a part in bringing their vision to life.
This wedding was a perfect example of how dried and preserved flowers can create something truly special. Not only did they complement the festival-style aesthetic beautifully, but they also became lasting keepsakes for the couple.
If you’re planning a wedding and want florals that are bold, unique, and full of personality, I’d love to hear from you!
