Dried Flower
Frequently Asked Questions
Why should we choose dried flowers for our wedding?
Dried flowers won’t wilt or need water, and you don’t have to throw them away after your big day. You can keep them for years as a lasting memory—just display them away from direct sunlight and humidity. Bridesmaids can also take their bouquets home as a lovely gift and keep sake.
Dried flower bouquets are lighter than fresh ones, meaning you won’t be weighed down carrying bulky blooms around. If you’re travelling abroad for your wedding or having celebrations with lots of venue changes dried flowers are easy to transport and reuse.
What varieties of flowers will be in our bouquets and buttonholes?
I work with a beautiful selection of dried flowers and grasses, including bunny tails, pampas, oats, wheat, and miscanthus. For the main flowers, I often use seedheads, thistles, statice, broom, and gypsophila.
I also use preserved flowers such as roses and hydrangeas. I can incorporate preserved eucalyptus, or autumnal beech leaves for a touch of greenery and movement in your bouquet.
Sometimes in larger bouquets and installations I use artificial and silk flowers to achieve your dream wedding look
What is the difference between dried and preserved flowers?
Dried flowers are hung upside down in a controlled environment to retain as much colour and shape as possible. Some dried flowers, like statice, amaranthus, and nigella, are naturally colourful, while others may be dyed or bleached to achieve different shades.
Preserved flowers, on the other hand, are placed in a glycerine solution with dyes. This keeps them soft and fresh-looking for over a year, but they are more sensitive to temperature and humidity. As a result, preserved flowers tend to be more expensive, and occasionally, the glycerine may “weep” from the stems. Be careful that colour doesn’t transfer onto clothing or surfaces.
Are dried flowers fragile?
Not as much as you might think! Dried flowers are surprisingly hardy as long as they don’t get wet (this can lead to drooping and leaking of dyes/ colour).

From Our Couples
We got married this August, and Ashley did our wedding flowers. I absolutely loved them.
Ashley was lovely to speak to, and obviously very much passionate about her job. She understood exactly the sort of thing I wanted and produced something perfect for the wedding day. The bouquets, the buttonholes, the flowers for my hair, they were all equally gorgeous and yet unique. I got lots of compliments on them and would wholeheartedly recommend her.
I can’t really begin to put into words what a professional, joyful, expert, organised and beautiful florist Ashley is! Please suffice to say that if you want out of this world, designed for you, perfectly curated flowers for your wedding look no further!…I could cry thinking about the joy I had when I saw them, please think of Ashley for all your florist needs you cannot find a more perfect person.
